Galway East TD Seán Canney has welcomed the decision by Minister Shane Ross to direct his officials to review as a matter of urgency and ensure that the regulations are not put into effect in advance of the review.
‘The decision follows a meeting with representative bodies from the agriculture and forestry section this week.
‘I am satisfied that following my representations to Minister Ross. The regulations as proposed were confusing and not practical.
‘I had received many queries and had received some clarifications. I am satisfied that common sense has prevailed.
