Social enterprise companies in Galway East are being encouraged to apply for funding under a new €1 million scheme to grow and strengthen their businesses.
Galway East TD and Minister for Rural Affairs Seán Canney said the Small Capital Grants Scheme would provide grants of between €2,000 and €15,000 for equipment, repairs or refurbishment.
Minister Canney said: “This is a great opportunity for social enterprise businesses to get funding to improve their services. It will be of particular interest to small and start-up social enterprises that do not have the capacity to apply for large grants.
“The scheme is being funded by my department, the Department for Rural and Community Affairs, through the Dormant Accounts Fund.
“It will be administered by the Local Development Companies but the final decision on funding will be made by the Department.
“I would urge all social enterprises in Galway East to apply without delay.”
The closing date for applications is Monday November 11 at 3pm.
Applications should be made to Galway Rural Development at [email protected]. Application forms are available on the Department of Rural and Community Development’s website https://www.gov.ie/en/organisation/department-of-rural-and-community-development/
