Loughrea is to receive a new Family Support Worker as part of a Government initiative to provide additional funding for Family Resource Centres around the country,
Welcoming the allocation for the Loughrea centre, Galway East TD and Minister for Rural Affairs Seán Canney said: “Family Resource Centres play a key role in supporting families and communities.
“The allocation of a Family Support Worker in Loughrea for the Galway/Roscommon Family Resource area will provide greater capacity for the centre’s services to reach vulnerable children and families.
“This is the third consecutive year that additional resources have been allocated to the Family Resource Centre Programme under the current Government.
“I want to acknowledge the work of my ministerial colleague, the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs Katherine Zappone for leading this initiative.”
