Canney announces Leader funding of €180,000 for Galway East

I am delighted to announce Leader funding of €180,000 for four projects for Galway East.
The projects to benefit are Shiven Rovers AFC Newbridge €41,625 for installation of lift and disabled toilet, Caltra Community Centre Development €96,929 for extension to Caltra Community Centre to provide a new stage and back-stage storage area, Galway Rural Development Company CLG €5,537 for a feasibility study for developing a new tourism product focusing on monastic sites along Shannon-Erne waterways, Ardrahan GAA Club €39,109 to complete walkway with lighting etc. and install exercise park including purchase of outdoor exercise equipment
‘This is in addition to funding announced last week of €370,000 for eleven other projects in Galway East. The funding is provided under the Leader funding administered by Galway Rural Development Company. The funding comes from my Department of Community and Rural Development. The funding is a great boost to the communities involved and assists them in providing much needed community facilities.
