The Tuam area is to benefit from funding of in excess of €500,000 under the Active Travel Programme.
The concept of the Active Travel is to link areas within towns and villages to provide for ease of movement on foot or on bicycle.
The Active Travel funding for the area will be used by Galway County Council to enhance footpaths and cycleways in Tuam. It will help provide connectivity between amenities such as schools and sports facilities and residential areas.
Footpath improvements in Tuam, Headford, Menlough and Caherlistrane are also planned under the current allocation. I continue to advocate for investment of this nature for the area.
