East Galway TD Seán Canney has welcomed funding of €1,109,430 for Knock Airport.
‘The funding represents the first allocation of support this year. The funds will go towards safety and security related projects. The funding is very important for the Airport in order to maintain the highest standards of safety and security.
‘Further assistance will be announced later this year for capital and operational supports. Ireland West Airport Knock is a vital component in the efforts to create regional development. This financial support to the airport is part of the Programme for Partnership Government agreed last year and is now being implemented.’
