Funding for Galway Group Water Schemes and private wells will be discussed at government formation talks in Dublin today. Galway East Independent TD Sean Canney has already raised the matter in the Dail, but is to seek clarity at today’s talks.

The issue has also been raised by Galway West TD Sean Kyne, who agrees that  fairness must be shown to those on such schemes who have paid for upgrades and maintenance from their own pockets over the years.

Deputy Canney says these people seem to have been forgotten in the conversation about water charges.
