I have received confirmation from the Minister of State with responsibility for the Office of Public Works, Mr. Patrick O’Donovan, T.D., that he has today approved Galway County Council’s application under the Office of Public Works’ Minor Flood Mitigation Works and Coastal Protection Scheme and has allocated funding of €40,253 for a revised study and flood relief works at Roxborough, Kilchreest.
“I am delighted to see funding of this nature still being provided in Co Galway for minor flood relief works to help protect properties, houses and farmland”.
“I want to commend Galway County Council for their efforts in applying for this much needed funding for Kilchreest and it will help alleviate flooding in this area”.
“The Minor Works Scheme is a vital source of funding and I am delighted to see Galway benefitting from the revised scheme which I introduced when I was Minister for the Office of Public Works”.
