I have been informed by the Minister for the Office of Public Works Patrick O’Donovan TD that he approved an allocation of €90,000 in funding to Galway County Council for works to open and clean existing open drain network at Clonfert, Ballinasloe, Co. Galway.
“The funding is allocated from the Minor Works Scheme for flood relief in local areas. It is an important funding mechanism for Galway County Council to access funding for much needed flood alleviation works throughout the County”.
“Galway County Council will carry out the works in the coming months and when complete will provide much needed protection from flooding in the Clonfert area”.
“I commend the Council on the work is accessing funding for this project and many similar projects throughout the County”.
