I welcome the announcement by the Minister for Agriculture to facilitate the continuation of the Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Scheme (TAMS) with Tranche 21 of the scheme to open on the 16th January and will close on the 16th April 2021.
The Scheme provides grants for on-farm capital investment
“TAMS is a very important support to farmers with over €265 million in grant aid paid out and it is important that existing applicants submit their payment claims as soon as they are complete”
“In particular I welcome the inclusion of investments in calf welfare, which will be a great support to farmers in Galway East. Likewise, the inclusion of GPS spreaders to all category of farmers is important. I also welcome the flexibilities for existing TAMS approvals in response to COVID-19 issues. The flexibilities will make it easier for farmers and their agents to continue to participate in this vital scheme where difficulties arise from the current public health restrictions now in place.
