I welcome the allocation of funding for various charities in Galway East under the COVID-19 Stability fund.
“The charities to receive additional funding include Tuam Cancer Care €13,563, Gort Cancer Care Support Group €6,690, Athenry Community Council Trust €6,385, Cancer Care West €90,500, COPE Galway €90,500, Galway Hospice Foundation €90,500, Simon Galway €90,500, East Galway and Midlands Support Group €24,190, Galway Autism Partnership €11,852, Hand in Hand €17,523, Croí €90,500 and Galway Rape Crises Centre €15,897”.
“This is welcome additional funding boost for these groups who give so much to those in need and who have found fundraising very difficult during COVID-19”
“The COVID-19 Stability fund was set up by Michael Ring and I when Ministers in the Department of Community & Rural Affairs and the objective of the fund was to help charities around the country and I welcome the fact that €40 million has been distributed in this fund to charities around the country. The funding has been taken from the Dormant Accounts fund and it is only correct that we continue to support Charities in their time of need”.
