I welcome the announcement by the Government that all pubs are to reopen for business from the 21st September.
‘In particular, I am pleased that pubs are been given sufficient notice so that they can prepare their premises and their staff for the reopening date’.
These pubs have been closed since last March and as many of these pubs are based in rural areas, I hope that they will be able to operate in a viable way going forward. These businesses will still remain under pressure due to the restrictions imposed due to COVID-19.
‘I am also encouraging all publicans that they apply for the Restart Grant which is available from their Local Authority. This funding is available as a grant to assist in the cost of reopening their business.’
I take this opportunity to wish all publicans the best of luck in these challenging times.
I welcome decision on reopening all pubs
