I welcome the allocation of €748,487 in funding to 12 Galway Charities by the Department of Health.
The funding will benefit the following charities across the county and is allocated to counteract the huge reduction in fundraising due to COVID-19.
I am pleased to see this funding been made available to Ionad Pobail Chill Chiarain Cuideachta Faoi Theorainn €4,569, Athenry Community First Responder Group €2,000, Leukaemia Trust/Cancer Care West CLG €200,000, Galway Simon Community €200,000, Galway Hospice €200,000, EGM Cancer Support €53,459, Westside Resource Centre Ltd €20,414, Connemara Community Radio Ltd €22,081, Williamstown Development Company Ltd by Guarantee €3,823, Athenry Community Council Trust CLG €17,118, Inishbofin Community Services Programme Co. Limited €7,665 and Area Renewal Company Clifden CLF €17,358.
‘I, along with former Minister Michael Ring TD brought forward this Stability Fund totalling €35 million to support charities. Many charities have had their fundraising activities adversely effected by the COVID-19 restrictions. I expect that the Department of Health will be making further allocations in the coming weeks’.
I welcome funding of almost €750,000 for Galway Charities
