Footpaths Grants
Seán Canney TD has welcomed the announcement of funding for various projects in Tuam totalling €329,000 under the Active Travel Scheme. The allocation are €80,000 for footpaths and improved pedestrian crossing facilities on the Galway Road. €35,000 for a footpath to link Toghermore Estate on the Dublin Road. €15,000 for a pedestrian crossing on the Dunmore Road. €35,000 for improvements to the junction at Athenry Road junction with the Dublin Road and €80,000 for enhancement upgrades to footpaths in various locations and €84,000 has been allocated for a walking route along the Kilcloghan’s walking loop.

Headford Notes
Funding
Seán Canney TD has welcomed funding for projects in the parish. €58,000 is allocated for a footpath linking Corner Chapel to the existing footpaths at Deerpark. This will create a safe walking link for people in Headford and Caherlistrane. A further grant of €40,000 is allocated for the provision of footpaths and safe crossings in the town of Headford. This funding is allocated under the Active Travel Scheme will enhance walking facilities.

Caherlistrane Notes

Seán Canney TD has welcomed funding for project in the parish. €58,000 is allocated for a footpath linking Corner Chapel to the existing footpaths at Deerpark. This will create a safe walking link for people in Headford and Caherlistrane. This funding is allocated under the Active Travel Scheme will enhance walking facilities.

Abbeyknockmoy Notes
Funding
Seán Canney TD has welcomed funding of €35,000 to provide a footpath from the village to the Abbey. This funding under the Active Travel Scheme will enhance safe access to the Abbey from the village.

Gort / South Galway Notes
Active Travel Funding
Seán Canney TD has welcomed funding of €395,000 for various projects in the Gort South Galway area.
Funding has been provided for a number of projects including new footpaths on the Tubber Road, Gort €95,000, Improvements to crossing facilities in Loughrea, Gort, Portumna, Craughwell €55,000, provision of new footpaths from the outskirts of Gort to Coole Park €30,000, widening of footpaths in Portumna, Gort, Loughrea, Craughwell €100,000, improved crossing facilities on the Ennis Road €55,000 and footbridge rehabilitation works on the Gort River Walk €60,000.

Further funding of €290,000 for improvements to road flooded under the Climate Change Adaptation Scheme including Caherbroder €60,000, Traught, Kinvara €40,000, Cloon Weir, Gort €40,000 and €150,000 for raising levels of roads in various locations. Works include raising roads, improving surface water drainage systems and repairs to damaged roads.
