Galway East groups have been allocated a total of €225,776 in LEADER funding by the Department of Rural and Community Development.
I am delighted at these allocations of funding from my department.
The awards include €135,736 for major upgrading works at Clarinbridge GAA Club, €10,313 for walkway lighting at Ardrahan GAA Club, €8,342 for upgrading works at Loughnane and Quinn Memorial Hall, Ardrahan, €61,235 for the renovation of a herd’s cottage at Carrantryla Park, Dunmore and €10,150 for upgrading works at Dunmore Community Centre.
LEADER funding is a vital support for Rural Ireland because it targets disadvantaged areas and has made a great difference to our local communities.
I want to congratulate all those groups and organisations that have been successful in the current round.
LEADER funding should remain a priority for Rural Ireland in any new Programme for Government.
