From the Irish Cancer Society:
We have extended our Cancer Nurseline (1800 200 700) hours to Monday to Thursday 9am to 8pm and Friday to Sunday 9am to 5:30pm. Our nurses can talk people through any concerns they have about their diagnosis or treatment, while our entitlements team can give them information on their financial and other entitlements.
We have provided cancer specific COVID-19 information and advice on our website www.cancer.ie, including specific advice for patients, survivors and volunteers, hospital updates and answers to FAQs
We have started a new phone counselling service as people can no longer attend the face to face counselling we fund in local cancer support centres around the country.
Our Night Nursing and Volunteer Driver services are still operating and are following guidance from the HSE on minimising the risk of COVID-19 on patients, staff and volunteers.
All of these services are free of charge.
