When will schools reopen?
· The Department of Education remains in close contact with the Chief Medical Officer in relation to school closures. This is under constant review.
· The Taoiseach has reiterated the position that many public health measures may have to be extended if people don’t follow the public health guidelines, esp on social distancing.
· Any decision will be based on public health grounds and what is best for the country.
· We really need young people’s support in that, and particularly their support to take the right action to stem the spread of Covid-19.
