The National Childcare Scheme is now open for parents wishing to make postal applications.
More than 30,000 applications for nearly 40,000 children have been processed since the online service for applications was opened last November.
Postal applications now offer another route for parents and it is hoped that this will encourage more families to avail of the scheme.
Online applications remain open. If anyone wants more information or to check their eligibility for support, they should visit www.ncs.gov.ie.
Information is available on the website on how to apply online or by post. Online applications take a matter of minutes and can be processed within a matter of days.
Those wishing to apply by post, can contact the National Childcare Scheme – Parent Support Centre on 01-9068530. The centre is open Monday to Saturday from 8am to 6pm and an application form will be sent out.”
Under the National Childcare Scheme, 3,646 childcare providers have contracted to deliver the service.
Subsidies awarded to families can be used with any TUSLA-registered early learning, care and school age childcare providers, including child minders registered with TUSLA.
