Galway East TD and Minister for Rural Affairs Seán Canney has welcomed an allocation of €1,397,683 for drainage works across for Regional and Local Roads in County Galway.
The funding from the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport is part of a €33.8 million grant for a variety of schemes and projects for improving the county’s roads.
Minister Canney said: “I am delighted with the allocation for drainage works, which is much needed to alleviate problems created by heavy rainfall on our roads.
“Overall, these works can only improve the quality of our roads and make them safer for all road users.”
