The Broadband Connection Points are an integral part of the National Broadband Plan (NBP).
The BCPs as they are known will provide rural communities with digital hubs where people can access high-speed broadband.
There will be around 300 of them operational nationally within a year on the activation of the NBP, which was signed last week.
I visited two of our BCP points for Galway East, Ballinakill National School and Leitrim Community Centre.
At Ballinakill, the children treated me to an impromptu music recital!
