I attended the Bank of Ireland National Enterprise Town Awards presentation in Portumna today.
The competition promotes enterprise by bringing business and community groups together in towns and villages across Ireland to showcase the spirit of enterprise in their local area.
With a total prize fund of €193,000, the winners will be announced at a ceremony in the Lyrath Hotel, Kilkenny, on December 6.
The judging panel visits all nominated places in order to assess their suitability for the 40 awards available.
The competition is a great initiative that stimulates all aspects of entrepreneurial activity.
