TCD AND INLAND FISHERIES IRELAND

As Minister of State with responsibility for the Inland Fisheries sector, I was honoured to sign a Memorandum of Understanding between Inland Fisheries Ireland and the School of Natural Sciences at Trinity College Dublin.
The two bodies have worked closely together on various ecology projects over the past 20 years but the MOU now cements that relationship.
Data compiled in the course of routine fishery management operations and existing projects is providing the basis for continued joint research.
It was a great pleasure to see both organisations coming together under the auspices of the magnificent architecture of Trinity.
Joining me to sign the MOU were Professor Andrew Bowie, Associate Dean of Research at TCD and Dr Ciaran Byrne, CEO of Inland Fisheries Ireland. Another attendee for the ceremony was the chairman of Inland Fisheries Ireland Fintan Gorman, who comes from Cong.
