Mná na hÉireann Fund Launch at Dublin Castle
I was delighted to join the Taoiseach for the launch of the new €1.8M Mná na hÉireann fund at Dublin Castle.
The fund supports charities and social enterprises that help women find employment.
It is hoping to secure 1,000 jobs for women over the next three years.
The initiative is being run by the Social Innovation Fund Ireland in partnership with Bank of America and the Department of Rural and Community Development, in which I am the Minister of State.
This is a hugely worthwhile project which has the potential to transform lives by providing training, upskilling and education for women that are disadvantaged.
Every euro that is donated by private philanthropists to Social Innovation Fund Ireland is matched by my Department via the Dormant Accounts Fund.
Organisations wishing to apply to the Mná na hÉireann, Women of Ireland Fund can find details on the Social Innovation Fund website www.socialinnovation.ie/mna-na-heireann-fund.
Applications are open from today until April 18 this year.
